There are many things you can do to protect yourself when selling tickets to someone.  If you can do it, before the "actual" transaction takes place, meet the other party at a game in the stadium prior to the game date on your tickets.  If you take care of the transaction in person, make sure to make the meeting place such as at a shopping center, Movie theater, public building, or any other common meeting place that is high traffic.
